879 Earl McLeod Wing Bursary

PURPOSE

The purpose of the 879 (Earl MacLeod) RCAF Wing Bursary is to encourage personal achievement of Royal Canadian Air Cadets in 147 Airwolf Air Cadet Squadron. 

Specifically:

  • Educational pursuits
  • Enhancement of the Air Cadet aims and objectives; and
  • Facilitate career opportunities

NATURE OF BURSARY

These bursaries are for two Air Cadets selected by agreement between the Commanding Officer, Parent Society Chair, and the 879 Wing Liaison Officer(s).

APPLICANT AGE

Cadets turning 16 years of age before 01 August are considered as Senior Cadets. Cadets with 16th birthdays on or after 01 August are considered Junior Cadets.

  • Junior Bursary for $200 is for applicants aged 13 - 15
  • Senior Bursary for $300 is for applicants aged 16 - 18
  • Applicants must be 2nd year or higher in the Cadet program
  • Senior cadets active with the squadron when applications open but who will age out before the end of the training year are eligible to apply.

APPLICATION

Applications may be completed on the form provided by 879 Wing or in an alternate electronic format implemented by 147 Airwolf.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Application deadline is midnight on 01 MAY 2025

The ranks and names of successful applicants for each bursary will be provided to 879 Wing at least two weeks before the Annual Ceremonial Review or alternate presentation date.

PRESENTATION

The bursaries will be presented at the Annual Ceremonial Review (ACR) by a representative of 879 (Earl MacLeod) Wing. Successful candidates must be present at the ACR or forfeit the award.
